Corona virus diseases are a type of viruses that typically cause mild respiratory infections not only same as the common cold but also more severe, and potentially deadly infections. They are zoonotic diseases, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people.
Corona virus first originated in China led to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak in 2003.Another corona virus appeared in 2012 in Saudi Arabia causing Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). And then,we have COVID-19, which is caused by a novel corona virus named SARS-Cov-2 that came out in2019.

Covid-19 was first identified by Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. It was initially reported to WHO on December 31, 2019.On March 11, 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic. These viruses are mainly transmitted from person to person through respiratory droplets and close contact.
According to the WHO, the incubation period for COVID-19 is most commonly around 5 days, but can range from about 1-14 days. People are infected with this SARS-COV-2 virus before it shows any symptoms or when it has only mild symptoms and even some people never develop any symptoms.
The common symptoms of this disease includes runny nose, cough, fever, sore throat and shortness of breath. In more severe cases, it can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
So only maintaining proper guidelines on social distancing, hand washing, face coverings, quarantine people can prevent this pandemic disease.
